I love January. As much as I adore the holidays, by January 1 (or, let’s face it, December 26), I’m ready to take down the tree and send the Christmas decorations back home to their shelf in the basement. January means organizing, streamlining, and simplifying our daily lives. And, yes, goal setting.
Last year I did pretty well with my goals, so let’s keep the hits coming, yes?
Family & Household:
- Do individual things with each kid. I think we have the family fun part down, so now I want to try and spend time individually with each kiddo. I already take Vicki to swimming so we have some one-on-one time, but I’d like to add something in there with Luke, too.
- Print & hang photos. We’ve been really good about having pictures done, but now they’re just sitting there on my hard drive. I want to print some and display them in our home. Including all the iPhone pictures I take.
- Organize the new house. We are very fortunate to have space to work with in the new house. We just need to use it efficiently. On the to-organize list: pantry, bathroom closets, basement, and playroom.
- Pay off student loans. I’m done owing money to Sallie Mae.
Personal:
- Lose 15-20lbs. I am currently a few pounds below what I was when I got pregnant with Luke, and I’m working on getting back down to a healthier weight.
- Go to bed on time. Yes, this goal is on here again. It probably will be forever.
- Take a photo every day. My life is chronicled by my iPhone, which is better than not at all.
Business and Blogging:
- Refresh my blog design. This place needs a facelift.
- Overhaul the backend of the blog. There’s a lot here that needs to be cleaned up as well.
- Organize my time better. In the rare moments I actually get to use the computer, I need to have a plan to write. Currently I do my best writing all in my head when I’m in a totally inconvenient place, like the shower or driving.
I’m so excited for what this year will bring!
